As a HCPC-registered Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist with over 20 years’ experience supporting adults to return to, remain in, or regain employment following mental health difficulties, neurological injury and long-term health conditions.
Practice is firmly rooted in vocational rehabilitation, with a focus on enabling sustainable participation in work, education and meaningful life roles.
Alongside core occupational therapy training, psychotherapeutically informed occupational therapy, integrating evidence-based psychological approaches within a practical, person-centred and occupation-focused framework.
This allows therapeutic work to address not only emotional distress, but also confidence, identity, function, routines and participation in everyday life.
Experience spans mental health, neurology and acquired brain injury, including work with individuals following stroke, traumatic brain injury, neurological illness, persistent pain and psychological distress.
Neurological conditions, chronic pain and mental health difficulties may occur independently or together. All can significantly affect cognition, emotional regulation, physical capacity, sleep, fatigue, confidence and vocational identity.
OT role is to understand the interaction between physical health, brain function, mental wellbeing, environmental demands and occupational roles, and to translate this understanding into meaningful change.
Work integrates principles and techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, coaching approaches, and mindfulness-based and relaxation techniques. These are used flexibly and collaboratively within an occupational therapy framework.
Supporting individuals to build self-esteem and confidence, manage stress and low mood, develop effective pain and fatigue management strategies, explore the role of physical activity in mental health, and re-establish sustainable daily routines, exploring symptoms, building self-management strategies and manage health needs.

Vocational Rehabilitation
Vocational rehabilitation is central to practice. Supporting individuals to return to work, remain in employment with reasonable adjustments, navigate student transitions, reshape roles where previous work is no longer sustainable, and remain healthy at work over the long term.
CBT for Insomnia (CBT-I)
Specialist training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) and now accept referrals in this area. Sleep intervention is integrated with routines, fatigue management, environmental modification and occupational demands.
Theoretical Framework
OT practice is informed by the Biopsychosocial Model of health and the Person–Environment–Occupation (PEO) Model, ensuring therapy considers the interaction between the individual, their environments and their occupations.
Individual treatment sessions start from £60 (40 minute session).

Assessment costs will vary depend on whether a report is required or a short email summary is sufficient.
Travel costs and venue prices may vary depending on location.
Training sessions can be arranged, and prices will vary depending on duration and number of participants.
The terms and conditions are set out to confirm both parties understand the occupational therapy services agreed, the costs including the time scales for payments and any issues regarding data protection.
